PGH Hansen’s Club and Philippine Leprosy Mission participate inthe Webinar for World Hansen’s Day 2021 (January 30, 2021):”Zero Leprosy for Whom in the Post-COVID World?”

Good news! The Philippine General Hospital Hansen’s Club will be participating in the panel
discussion on Mental Health and Disabilities during the World Hansen’s Day Webinar of the
Sasakawa Health Foundation (SHF) on Saturday, January 30, 2021 (8:00PM). The theme of the
series of the SHF webinars is ” Zero Leprosy for Whom in the Post-COVID World?” PGH Hansen’s
Club will be represented by Annie Cabarrubias, the club secretary. Mr. Gerardo Turdanes,
Program Director of Philippine Leprosy Mission, Inc., will assist Annie. During the webinar, a short
video about the club’s project will be featured.


The PGH Hansen’s Club, Philippine Leprosy Mission, PGH Department of Dermatology, and SHF ,
have an ongoing project : “PALs4PALs Help Hotline: COVID-19 Support Project for Persons
Affected by Leprosy.” Members of the club have received relief assistance, cellphone load for
access to communication, and selected patients will receive medical assistance for leprosy
complications. The Help Hotline will be manned by members of the PGH Hansen’s Club to answer
queries on leprosy and psychosocial concerns of Persons Affected by Leprosy.
