Congratulations to the Philippine General Hospital Hansen’s Club!
The Club participated in the panel discussion on Mental Health and Disabilities during the World Hansen’s Day Webinar of the Sasakawa Health Foundation (SHF) on Saturday, January 30, 2021 (8:00PM). The theme of the series of the SHF webinars is ” Zero Leprosy for Whom in the Post-COVID World?” PGH Hansen’s Club was represented by Annie Cabarrubias, the club secretary. Mr. Gerardo Turdanes, Program Director of Philippine Leprosy Mission, Inc., assisted Annie.
During the webinar, a short video about the club’s project was featured followed by an Open Forum on what activities the PGH Hansen’s Club has been doing to help Persons Affected by Leprosy with mental wellness and disability problems. One of these efforts is the PALs4PALs Help Hotline being manned by the club officers. Any PAL can contact the Help Hotline to ask questions about leprosy or to seek assistance and psychosocial support.
